Community Voices Online has five main functions:
1 To make the most of the ever increasing usage of the internet, the system gives the LINk the ability to manage a large membership, far greater in number than other more traditional means;
2 To provide LINks with the tools, software and support needed to engage on a wide scale and undertake their statutory duties;
3 To enable Host Organisations to support their LINks using the latest technological advances, ensuring precious resources can be targeted to community engagement activities rather than administration;
4 To assist Local Authorities to monitor the Host Organisation and the LINk via day by day statistics and reporting functions, publishing documentation in the public arena thus achieving public accountability;
5 To give the Government a facility to interact and communicate with LINks and gain a local, regional and national consensus quickly.
