Census shows major rise in carer numbers

Alzheimer’s Society publishes data on dementia diagnosis rates

The Alzheimer’s Society has released new data on the rates of dementia diagnosis in the UK. It shows wide variation between areas. Diagnosis rates range from 31.6 per cent in East Riding of Yorkshire to 75.5 per cent in Belfast. The proportion of people with dementia who have a formal diagnosis is now 46%, compared with 43% in 2011.
